Festive Wreath Workshop

Festive Wreath-making and Foraging walk

Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th November

1pm-4pm Crafted, Castle Ward

Visit the wonderful Castle Ward, during Crafted and learn to make your own fully reusable, sustainable and ethically gathered, fresh green wreath for this festive season.

Whilst crafting your own wreath, from freshly foraged greenery under the guidance of Folk&Flora, you will also learn the meanings and folklore behind the plants and ornaments we bring into our homes during these winter months.

Each participant will take home one fully decorated, reusable fresh wreath and the skills, knowledge and a few spare bells or baubles to refill it at anytime. We will (weather permitting) go on a short foraging walk to gather foliage from the stunning grounds at Castle Ward and cover how to sustainably and ethically gather your own materials, where to find them and what to avoid, before returning to the stable yard to create our own wreaths and learn the folklore and meaning of each plant, shape and decoration, the aesthetics of building your own wreath with personal flare, and the environmental impact of store bought, one time use arrangements.

Come on down to Castle Ward, wander the stunning grounds and house, browse the stalls of Northern Irelands most exciting crafts-people and kick off the festive season with a little floral magic.
